Before you begin: All projections in this tool are hypothetical estimates based on publicly available NJDOE data files. The algorithm closely follows the published technical methodology, but the state uses higher-precision internal values, tie-breaking rules, and unpublished adjustments that this tool cannot fully replicate. Projected ranks may differ from official NJDOE figures — treat all outputs as directional, not definitive.

How to use this tool
Search for a school — type a school name, district, or county in the search box and select the school you want to explore.
Review its indicators— each accountability indicator (ELA, Math, Chronic Absenteeism, etc.) is shown as a collapsible card with the school's current subgroup values.
Edit subgroup values — change any eligible value to model a hypothetical improvement. Fields update automatically when you click away, or press Recalculate Projection to run manually.
Read the projection — the Calculated Summative Rank and Score update to show where the school would rank statewide under your scenario.
Add comparison schools — search for peer schools to see how the home school sits relative to them after recalculation.
